Breakthrough

Today i had planned on visiting Journey Church in Acworth but apparently God had other plans. Me and my wife watched Elevation Church from Charlotte online today. It’s been a long time since i’ve had a message still in my head come Sunday night as i type this. Pastor Steven Furtick taught about how to pray like a juggernaut. Several things really stuck out to me during this message and it is by far the best sermon on prayer i’ve ever heard. Not only was it biblical but it is doable. It will become a breakthrough in so many ways in my life. I will be doing a series on prayer at some point when i launch my new blog hopefully in the near future so i’m only going to mention briefly my take on this. We need to realize when we come before the Lord in prayer we are entering a King’s court. If you want to dress comfortable that’s fine but we need to remember who we are having a conversation with.

Sure be honest and transparent and tell God what’s really going on. If you are frustrated then by all means discuss this with him. But do it all respectfully and reverently. God is not a dude or a hey man. No he is the God of the universe and needs to be treated as such. He is worthy of our respect and needs to be given that honor. I know this is all jumbled up and stuff but i’m literally just typing off the top of my head. The most important thing i want to say is.

Build your prayer on the solid foundation of God’s sovereignty.

I haven’t posted in a while. I will hopefully soon be reamping things.But it won’t be here. Not sure yet where but definitely closing this one down and going to something new and hopefully improved.

Raise the bar

If you were a pole jumper once you cleared 9 feet where would you jump for next? Obviously you would set the bar at 8 feet wouldn’t you? You are saying that’s crazy man you are going down not up. Well to me that defines the church today. We are good at jumping over 9 feet and then we either continue to jump 9 or we move down to 8 1/2. This is why we get no where. Sure you have to train harder and you sweat more BUT the out come is greater when you raise the bar. Go to 9 1/2, 10 , 10 1/2. Keep raising the bar every time and the reward is greater each time.You can only jump over the point the bar is set at? Its time to train a little harder and leap a little higher.

Ufos and church

So what does that mean. To me it means if you are going to do nothing but sit there and wait on Jesus to come back then get up go to the door and never enter a church ever again until you are ready to commit yourself to the full call God has on  your life. If we are going to reach people we must quit treating church like a buffet . We are called to serve not be served. It’s not a place for followers of Jesus to go and load up on information. It’s a place for you to bust your freakin’ tail and sweat bleed and die for the cause of Christ. If you aren’t going to do that  and you are a christ follower then there’s the door. It’s not a place to “hang out”  not that it’s all bad but it’s not why it exist. The church is called to go use our gifts to reach as many possible. Unless you can show me in the bible where sitting on your backside is a spiritual gift then it’s time to get to work.  It’s time we get rid of ufo’s.

Sunday

 Today we had 1 person get saved which is awesome. I do wish God would bless us with more salvations. Glad that 1 now has an eternity with God but believe God wants so much more for his church.Yes the new camaro was sitting in the building. Wish we could have used it like we had originally planned.

Pre-Sunday

Last week was an amazing sunday at LIFE Church. We don’t believe God is going to stop moving here. We are going full speed ahead. Yes i know it’s summer. People need to Know God in the summer months too so we will not go halfway then either. This Sunday i’m expecting to see the biggest move of the Lord i have ever seen. Oh yeah and we are going to do something you have probably never seen in Church before. Want to know what it is? 10 am 3006 martha berry hwy. XL Building . Other wise you will have to wait.

God of the summer

Before i share what happened today let me share something that i should have shared a month ago. I felt like God told me David i want to move in the summer. If it’s in the summer there is no doubt it’s me. I’m embarassed to say i haven’t shared that with anyone and yeah i’m thinking i shouldn’t post this until fall after what’s about to happen actually happens but there isn’t much faith in that now is there.

For those of you who are passive in the church during the summer months. I got one word for you. PATHETIC. God deserves our best all the time. Yes i said pathetic. God isn’t waiting for you in september he is waiting for you TODAY.

Yes i really believe God is going to dominate Rome (more on that is to come) with the gospel. He wants to dominate yours too.

Now for today. Attendance is suppose to be down in the summer months but God has said no not this time. WOW> I wish there were words to describe what happened but there isn’t.  I can’t even explain it if you were to ask me. God is. That pretty much settles it. God came down and worthy you are worthy oh God. He is the God of the summer and i’m stoked about what he is going to accomplish through us.

Back from hiatus

Been a while since i posted. I’m trying to get back in the swing of things here. It was a great weekend here. Seeing God move in 2 churches and small group this weekend. Looking forward to what God has in store for in the weeks ahead.
